Statistical Modelling and Analysis

The capabilities supported and developed within the Statistical Modelling and Analysis research group provide a platform which can contribute to many areas of quantitative scientific investigation and implementation. The group is one of only a few groups in the CSIR with the ability to offer statistical support, both within the CSIR as well as to external clients.

In addition to consulting and collaborating with scientists within the CSIR, the group supports research into a number of statistical research topics. These currently include:

  • Indicator development, including MCDA
  • Bayesian approach to statistical analysis
  • Structural equation modelling
  • Extreme value theory
  • Spatial clustering methods
  • Multivariate time series
