Johan Maritz

Johan Maritz, a GIS practitioner and expert in the field of accessibility analysis, leads a research group investigating the role of information and communication technology (ICT) and Geo-ICT in rural development.

Current activities and research interests

  • Research of land use, public transport modelling geographic information systems (GIS) and accessibility modelling issues
  • Application of various geo-spatial projects
  • The role of ICT and Geo-ICT in rural development.

Experience

Maritz has more than 14 years' experience in studies and contract research related to spatial planning, transport-land use issues, and accessibility and interaction modelling. He is also a registered GIS practitioner who applies geo-spatial technology in these research fields.
