CSIR Biosciences hosts Annual Student Presentation Day

Dineo Sekwele

CSIR Biosciences hosted its second Annual Student Presentation Day for its bursars and scholarships at the CSIR Knowledge Commons on 07 February 2012.

The event is the brainchild of the Biosciences HR team aimed at enabling line managers, scientists and researchers to meet the bursars and scholarships holders and provide a platform for the students to showcase their research projects. This way, they also establish continued interactions with the students to ensure that they receive input and expert advice on technical matters from our scientists and researchers with their academic supervisors present.

Dineo Sekwele, HR Manager at Biosciences said, “The objective of this event among others is to provide an opportunity for scholarships, bursars and their university supervisors to network. The group of panellists assesses the strategic alignment of their thesis within the overall context of the unit’s objectives.”

Dineo added, “Furthermore, the interaction with university supervisors opens up opportunities for possible collaboration between institutions.”

The day’s proceedings were concluded with a tour of the newly-refurbished Biosciences Park which boasts the latest cutting-edge equipment in the laboratories.
