Camouflage Facility

The Camouflage facility comprises of

  • field equipment and
  • laboratory equipment used to measure samples collected or manufactured.
Some instruments and equipments utilized are:
  • Photo Research PR715 Spectroradiometer: a spectral-photometer used for measuring the reflectance and transmittance of a sample.
  • NCS (Natural Colour System) Colour Meter
  • Nikon D70S Digital SLR Camera
  • Gloss Meter
  • Near Infrared (NIR) Tester
  • NCS Colour Atlas
This facility plays the important tole of evaluating the characteristics and properties of materials, pigments and patterns used in camouflage development. A spectral database om the measured reflectances of natural features (soil, rock, leaves, grass etc) and man-made features (fabrics, paints etc).
