Experimental EW systems group

The experimental EW systems group does contract research and development on simulators for the radar test and evaluation applications. The clients are mostly international research and development organisations or Department of Defence (DoD)agencies. The group aims to lead the market in terms of the technology and functionality it provides. Therefore, continuous investment is received from international contracts and local funding sources to develop the technology and processes required to be technology leaders. The group contains most of the skills it requires for the development work, which include system engineering, signal analysis, high speed digital hardware design and implementation, software engineering and radio frequency design and implementation. The direction of the technology in this group is purposefully aligned with the requirements of the local SANDF clients and DoD funded research programmes to provide impact in the local client sector.
