CSIR represents South Africa at international Landsat meeting
Helmut Neumann, earth observation specialist at the CSIR Satellite Applications Centre, represented South Africa at the recent LANDSAT Ground Station Operators Working Group meeting held in Shanghai, China.
Demonstrating the CSIR's commitment to earth observation
Mapping out a common vision for earth observation was the purpose of a meeting held on 15 October 2008 at the CSIR Satellite Applications Centre. Some 27 government representatives from 15 departments who collectively form the SPOT 5 stakeholder group spent time with CSIR specialists to discuss the continuation of SPOT 5.
CSIR tips scales at 17 satellite launch supports
The tracking, telemetry and command (TT&C) group of the CSIR Satellite Applications Centre has earned more that a pat on the back: the group recently notched up an unprecedented number of 17 launch supports for the year.
