Registration for CSIR Conference now open

The 3rd CSIR biennial conference will take place on 31 August and 1 September 2010. Registration for the conference, again with the theme Science: real and relevant, is now open. A draft programme is also available.

The conference will be shaped around the areas in which the CSIR believes it is equipped to fulfil its mandate - which states that the organisation should improve the quality of life of South Africans through industrial and scientific development. These research impact areas are health, energy, defence and security, natural environment, built environment and industry.

Those unable to attend the conference in person are invited to register to receive a live video link.

As a curtain raiser for the CSIR biennial conference, an Emerging Researcher Symposium will be held on 30 August 2010. The symposium will afford young researchers the opportunity to highlight the impact of their research on society.
