ScienceScope: All things ICT

The latest edition of the ScienceScope, focusing on information and communications technology, is now available.

The CSIR's work in ICT research and development takes its cue from the concept of the information society. Our vision is to contribute to South Africa's development towards and advanced information society in which everyone can benefit from their enhanced ability to create, manipulate, organise, transmit, store, and act on information.

This edition of ScienceScope highlights a number of areas of ICT research in the CSIR. It shows how our work contributes to society, human capital development, and the economy. Advances in ICT, brought about by research and experimental development, are worthy of pursuit both in terms of enabling impact in areas such as health, energy and the environment, and as an area of impact in itself.
