CSIR appoints new Group Executive
 |
The CSIR Board has approved the appointment of Khungeka Njobe (35) as CSIR Group Executive from 1 May 2006. Before joining the CSIR top management team, she held the position of Executive Director of CSIR Natural Resources and the Environment. Her appointment follows the departure of Dr Phil Mjwara, who was recently appointed as Director-General of the Department of Science and Technology. Read more ... |
Boost for national earth observation through SA/Flanders collaboration

Earth observation and remote sensing technologies skills will be strengthened nationally with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by South Africa and Flanders in March 2006. Patents of CSIR inventors lauded

Intellectual property and patents are high on the agenda for improving South Africa’s competitiveness. A number of CSIR researchers have earned due recognition for their innovative ideas that have been registered as South African patents. The Innovation Fund, a unit of the Department of Science and Technology that is managed by the National Research Foundation, has announced that these CSIR researchers will benefit from its Patent Incentive Fund. Potential of eInfrastructure investigated
An eInfrastructures Partnership Workshop was held at the CSIR on 2 May 2006 by the Department of Science and Technology and the European Commission’s Directorate-General Information Society.
