We actively explore the use of spatial light modulators to created structured light patterns for various applications, for example: to create beams that are non-diffracting, super-positions of beams, light fields carrying orbital angular momentum, etc. In addition we use digital holograms to execute modal decompositions of light, to reconstruct phase, intensity and orbital angular momentum density information.
