The CSIR National Laser Centre is always on the lookout for talented, promising students with an interest in lasers and optics. Student projects in the laser systems research group cover a diverse number of areas such as the actual development and construction of novel lasers, the modelling and research into fundamental laser physics and atmospheric remote sensing systems and research.
The CSIR offers annual MSc and PhD studentships for full time study at the CSIR National Laser Centre. Students have the opportunity to work closely with CSIR staff, while being registered at a South African university. In addition, the CSIR offers summer vacation work for students who wish to expose themselves to the laser research environment during university holidays.
