Overview: Mechatronics and Micromanufacturing

Focus on research and development in the domain of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies. The objective is to develop new innovative technologies for local industries, thus increasing their competitiveness in the global market place. Research is further balanced with the development of creative solutions for social economic problems in health and environmental industries. The group’s core competencies include advanced machines design, reconfigurable and flexible manufacturing systems, robotics and mechatronic systems,automation and control, micro manufacturing,microfluidics and microsytems. These competencies are grouped into two main research areas, namely Mechatronics and Micro Manufacturing.
