This research group focuses on the R&D of electro-optic inspection technologies, including multi-spectral detection systems in a wide range of industry applications. The research group has extensive expertise in the development of specialised inspection and imaging systems, including computer-based optical measurement systems, with related research in ultra-violet and infra-red inspection technologies and multi-spectral imaging systems.
Research conducted in the area of electro-optic sensing and imaging is aimed at optical gas leak detection systems, non-destructive testing methods and multi-spectral imaging technology for aerial inspection on high voltage equipment. In addition, contract R&D projects are undertaken for industrial clients with the focus on safety and security, food and beverage, pulp and paper, as well as the petrochemical and high-voltage electrical industries.
