Dr Suprakas Sinha Ray is a chief researcher in polymer nanocomposites at the National Centre for Nano-structured Materials at the CSIR.

Formal education

Experience

Dr Sinha Ray joined the CSIR in October 2006. Previously he worked as a research scientist for the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Laval, Canada. This was followed by his JSPS postdoctoral stay at the Toyota Technological Institute, Japan from 2001 to 2004.

  • Canada Research Chair Postdoctoral Fellowship (Research Scientist) on Polymer Physics and Nanomaterials from Laval University 2004.
  • Prestigious JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship-2002 from Japanese Government.
  • Sir P.C. Ray Research Award 1999-2000 from the University of Calcutta, India for best Ph.D. thesis in Science and Engineering in the year 1999-2000.
  • Senior Research Fellowship in 1998 (April)-2001(March) from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.
