Hydrosciences

The complexities of groundwater management are particularly challenging in the southern African region because of its complex geology, fractured rock and a semi-arid climate, which differentiates it from the international norms. The research group focuses on the quantification and characterisation of the resource to support sustainable development. Specific competencies include geohydrology, geophysics, groundwater modelling and aquifer-dependent ecosystems, which are deployed to support policy development, policy implementation and groundwater resource management.
