In our fast-paced, interconnected world, mutually-beneficial partnerships across boundaries are no longer extraordinary. While Africa may, in many instances, feature on the international agenda as the recipient of assistance from the developed world, the continent is also increasingly recognised as a contributor to global knowledge and expertise especially as far as scientific endeavour is concerned.
To this effect, the CSIRs contract research and development strategy leverages collaborations in support of cutting-edge science, engineering and technology (SET). The strategy rests on two key
pillars, namely the public and private sectors. Each of these can be segmented into local, continental (African) and international markets.
This ScienceScope presents some of the work we do across borders: In and for Africa, further afield and under the auspices of the European Union Framework Programmes.
