The principles that guide the CSIR’s policy on IP, derived from the CSIR mandate, are as follows:
- Encouragement of technological innovation in the national interest and in areas that should receive preference
- Cooperation with principals from the private and public sectors in the transfer of knowledge and technologies generated as a result of directed and multidisciplinary research
- Improvement of the quality of life.
