On Wednesday, 25 and Thursday, 26 May 2022, the National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA) hosted its Fifth Biennial Industrial Efficiency Conference at the CSIR International Convention Center (ICC) where the CSIR’s Energy and Water Centres exhibited their technologies.

“As the NCPC, we trust that we have been successful in ensuring that these two days of educating and equipping businesses and policy makers to adopt and support a cleaner, more efficient model of doing business, has been achieved,” said the NCPC-SA Director, Ndivhuho Raphulu.

The Energy Centre showcased the Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Module and the Water Centre showcased the Smart Water application technology. The PV module quality and reliability testing laboratory team offers outdoor test services for module-level performance testing, soiling studies, degradation studies and small-scale string inverter system testing in a real-world environment.

The exhibited technologies provide solutions to the transition of industry towards a green economy.

It is undeniable that the NCPC-SA is now recognised as a benchmark in platforms that equip and showcase best practice in South Africa’s green economy, driving the transition of South African industry towards a green economy through appropriate resource efficient and cleaner production interventions.

“We encourage industry collaboration and partnerships as they have a positive impact on the South African economy,” said Gerhard Fourie, Chief Director: Green Industries, Department of Trade, Industry and Competition.
