Dr Kishor Krishnan Nair

CSIR senior researcher

Nair is a CSIR senior researcher in information security. His main research interests include the security aspects of smart cards, biometrics, Internet of Things, payment systems, wireless protocols, and small-footprint embedded devices.

Nair gained extensive industrial experience of more than 15 years on various embedded platforms and wireless protocols used in the financial payment and smart card domains. His main research interests at the CSIR include the security aspects of smart cards, biometrics, Internet of Things, payment systems, wireless protocols, and small-footprint embedded devices.

Kishor obtained an MEng in computer engineering from the North-West University in 2009, researching intrusion detection in Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and a PhD in computer engineering from the North-West University in 2016, focusing on an approach to authenticate magnetic stripe bank card transactions at point-of-sale terminals.
