This multidisciplinary science, engineering and technology base is made up of individuals who are highly specialised in their respective fields. They are geneticists, virologists, software developers, polymer chemists, applied mathematicians and industrial engineers, just to name a few.

Smith’s research interest is the development of inclusive user interfaces for the Internet of Things.
Nahman’s main research interests include the economic valuation of environmental resources and impacts, the economics of environmental policy, the economics of pollution and waste, understanding consumer behaviour, operationalising and measuring the green economy, and the development of alternative indicators of well-being.
Cooper’s research interests cover spatial data infrastructures, crime mapping and analysis, volunteered geographical information, classification, addresses, metadata, standards development, policy development and ethics.
Muswema’s area of interest lies in waste research, including waste management planning, job creation for small-to-medium enterprises within the waste sector, food waste and waste characterisation projects.
