Health science technologies

CSIR Biosciences capabilities in health sciences research and development (R&D) span the spectrum from cellular biology to medicinal chemistry. The unit’s health sciences R&D is supported by a strong bio-analytical and proteomics competence, bioassays and high-throughput screening (HTS) platforms, as well as biomarker detection tools enabling the development of low-cost and efficient tools for disease detection.

The unit’s capabilities and offerings includes bioassays and screening technologies for HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, antimicrobial, anti-cancer and antiviral activity; medium to HTS platforms; metagenome sequencing, assembly and sequence analysis and systems biology; synthetic organic chemistry; profiling of small molecules and protein and genetic markers of disease in clinical samples; and high-resolution mass spectrometry based SWATH assays for targeted screening of biological samples.
