The CSIR and Gold Yard International Exchange Service (Gold Yard), an organisation representing various provincial bureau of China State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, have signed an agreement which is set to boost industrial development on the African continent.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by CSIR CEO, Dr Thulani Dlamini, and Gold Yard General Manager, Mr Anquan Chi, in Pretoria, on Wednesday, 25 July 2018.

Hundreds of learners who attend the CSIR annual career day have described it as an eye opener in learning more about various careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

This year, the event was used to highlight the impact and effects of climate change in South Africa. Learners were exposed to various technologies developed by the CSIR to curb climate change. This is in line with the 2019 National Science Week (NSW) theme “Facing the harsh realities of climate change”.

The Tshwane Women in Transport (TWIT) announced its partnership with HERE Technologies – leaders in digitised mapping and pioneers of in-car navigation systems since 1985 – by launching the digital mapping programme at the CSIR recently.

The CSIR will work with 3Sixty Global Solutions Group (3Sixty GSG) a subsidiary of NUMSA Investment Company (NIC), and Tautomer to fast-track the commercialisation of CSIR technologies.

The organisations entered into a tripartite agreement through NIC’s subsidiary 3Sixty GSG and their partner company, Tautomer, to explore any investment and collaboration opportunities at the CSIR.

The agreement was signed by CSIR Chief Executive Officer, Dr Thulani Dlamini, 3Sixty GSG Chief Executive Officer, Mr Khandani Msibi and Tautomer Managing Director, Mr Martin Magwaza, in Pretoria, on Wednesday, 15 January 2020.
