Lawrence Tebogo Zimba
Zimba contributes to the CSIR’s focus on industrial development by encouraging small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in the defence sector to take up mature CSIR-developed technologies and supports the SMMEs in the industrialisation process and commercialisation phase.

Zimba holds an Advanced MSc degree in Communication, Navigation, Surveillance (CNS) and Satellite Applications from a French University, Ecole Nationale l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) in Toulouse, France. He joined the CSIR in 2015 and plays a role in conceptualising and implementing programmes targeted at SMMEs for the industrialisation and commercialisation of mature CSIR technologies. He previously managed and implemented a programme within the CSIR for SMMEs that are now part of the supply chain in the defence sector.
