The CSIR’s Smart Mobility cluster addresses challenges and opportunities associated with transport and freight logistics; transport equipment; transport infrastructure; and passenger transport services in support of different industrial clusters.

The Aerospace Industry Support Initiative (AISI) is an initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), managed and hosted by the CSIR. The AISI is a government initiative with a specific aim of improving the competitiveness of the local aeronautics, space and defence sectors.

The Neighbourhood Planning and Design Guide is a comprehensively updated and revised version of its predecessor, the Guidelines for Human Settlement Planning and Design, also known as the Red Book.

This magazine-style publication focuses on the CSIR’s interventions and innovations in the field of defence and security. It covers topics such as counter poaching, maritime research, electronic defence systems, aerospace and information security.

The CSIR has a long history of collaboration with universities. These relationships, which enable us to achieve our respective visions and mandates, have continued to grow over the last three years (2013 - 2015).
