Johan Maritz

Maritz’s interests are geospatial analysis applied within the urban and regional planning space, aimed at supporting evidence-based decision-making.

Full Profile

Maritz is a senior researcher and a town and regional planner by training. His research background includes land-use planning, public transport modelling, accessibility and interaction modelling, geographic information systems, decision-support systems, geo-portal development and implementation, and web map applications. He has undertaken and led various geo-spatial projects at the CSIR. He is registered with the Geo-Information Society of South Africa as well as the South African Council for Professional and Technical Surveyors.
