Webinar I The Journey to Food-Contact Polyolefin Recyclate in Different Regions

Plastic pollution

Book your virtual seat for the Plastic Reboot – South Africa hosted webinar, focusing on the development of material subjected to rigorous cleaning and safety standards for its reuse in food packaging.

The process, known as food-contact polyolefin recyclate, and its recycling presents a key opportunity to increase circularity. Developing polyolefin recyclate for integration into primary polyolefin food-contact packaging is a potentially high-impact area that could reduce the consumption of virgin plastic.

By drawing on experiences from both developing and developed countries, the webinar is a knowledge exchange on exploring recycled content in primary, secondary and tertiary packaging as a necessary step in the transition to a circular economy. It will also explore increasing the recycling of polyolefins for higher-value applications (such as personal care and cosmetics packaging).
