Van Deventer’s area of interest lies in the monitoring of wetland vegetation using remote sensing. She has a doctorate degree in geography from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her key competencies are in geographical information systems as well as modelling, classification and hyperspectral remote sensing of wetland vegetation.
